As most of you may have noticed the website has been changed, this was purely by mistake but it looks ok so we are keeping it.
This is just a quick update to let you know what we have been up to, and what we have planned for the year ahead.
Firstly the big news is that Mr Kidger is expecting his first child in February. He already has a name picked, Johnson, and we expecting him to have all the character of his Dad, so we won't beable to get the little bogger to ever shut up!!! Of course this means that we will be slowing down as a band electrically for a while, so don't be surprised that our gig calendar isn't as full as it usually is. We have of course had our busiest year to date playing anywhere and everywhere.
On the band front, we have a few new songs written that we are trying out at the moment so hopefully we shall be in the studio again in the middle of next year. In the meantime the other 3 (non soon tpo be father) members will be undertaking a small acoustic tour in late Jan through Feb, to keep themselves busy.
I am also planning on bringing Celebrity of the Month Back so check it out here
Have a good Xmas
Starscreen x
9th of Feb:-
Well it's 10.30pm and I've just got back from the Studio, it's been a great day with all the drum and bass tracks laid down. The Studio is excellent and we've had a great atmosphere whilst play which has really given extra energy to the songs. John has impressed us all by keeping time superbly with a click track while still playing brilliantly. He has also half killed the band with his rancid Farts that have gagged many a maggit for miles around. Bring on day two......
10th of Feb:-
Well day two is over, Neal has done all his guitar parts and we've even managed to squeeze in another song so all being well we should have a good selection by midweek. The day as a hole has been great fun, Guy the producer is ace and a really good bloke and so is Dan our studio helper. The only down side has been Johns violence, which has resulted in a certain bass player throwing up after being punch in the testies!! Ouch!!!
More fun tomorrow x
11th & 12th of Feb
Day three was spent mostly on the vocal tracks, with his big bottle of Gaviscone, emergency Rennies and menthol crystals Daz was more than prepared for the day ahead. He has put down some very interesting idea's vocally that completely change the style of the songs, which work really well. We also spent today doing percussion, which was mainly done by Guy the producer, until John got involved and then before we knew what was going on he had his buttocks out and Neal was slapping them......this is on one of the new track......no really.....
Day 4 was mix day, with our parts done we left it to Guy to do his magic while we just sat around getting in his way. He only had one break allday to fetch a tuna wrap....which was thrown away as the tuna looked a strange colour and no one seemed to know if the colour ment it was good or bad, he decided not to take the chance.
In the four days we've been in the studio we've learnt many things. 1) don't punch John in the balls cos he'll always get you back and he can punch much harder. 2) Nintendo 64's we're wank 3) McDonald's breakfast's are much better than Burger King 4) all people from kirkby talk the same way 5) The Southbank in Notts have hot bar staff (these are not good for John's Labido)
The new Tracks are being mastered this week and hopefully by next week they will be up on the site, so take time to have one last listen to the tracks currently on the site and we'll see you soon
Starscreen x
Due to the Vaults losing their sound engineer the gig on Saturday has been cancelled, we will try and arrange another one for next year.
Some better news is that the two new songs are now avaliable to download, also check out the studio pics in the Gallery.
Well we've just finished a day in the studio. We are so far very pleased with the results, although not everything went to plan. We recorded two songs "Closer to me" and "Panic Station" once it is mixed we will get the songs up on the website/myspace site for you to download/listen to.
We plan to go in the studio at the beginning of December, we will be putting these songs on the Myspace site and you will be able to download them on here. Check the site for more updates.
Also we are starting to get gigs for the beginning of next year, check out some of the ones we've already got on the GIGS PAGE
The Great Escape is nearly up on us, this is going to be a regular night at Junktion 7 for a band called Censored. They are good friends of ours and we have the privilage of playing the opening night. So get yourself down to this, but get there early as the is talk that it will be a sell out and we will have to turn people away. We did a small acoustic set last night at junktion 7 (as did Matt from Censored) to promote this night, have a look at the setlist if you want, but make sure you don't miss the Great Escape it's gun ta be rate grand!
The more observant amougst you may have noticed we have a new web address, this was out of our hands but from now on our address is www.starscreenhq.co.uk not .com.

Hi again Starscreen fans! Three more gigs have been announced. Two of these are acoustic and one is at the community centre that we use to rehearse as part of the bank holiday weekend, check the gigs page for more info. Check out last nights set from Derby, thanks to Margi for putting on a great night.
We have had to cancel our gig today at the Frog and Nightgown, we apologise but it is out of our hands.
In other news John will be doing a Charity Skydive today and given Johns general clumsiness and superb ability to injure himself we are assuming he is going to die! So if your a drummer who can go two bastard minutes without hurting him/herself get in touch we may have a job for you. Also if you live near Nottingham and you hear a big crash upstairs, don't worry it'll just be John crashing through your roof. We apologise for this but if you could find it in your heart to bury him it would be much appreciated. Cheers
JOHN KIDGER - R.I.P (30.07.88-19.07.06)

Over the last few days we have taken part in two Battle of the Bands competitions, we have progressed to the next round in both. Read the setlists here. The next round of the Underdog Festival will be on the 31st of May at Junktion 7 in Nottingham.
Three more gigs have come our way and they are in three different counties, the first is in Derby at the First Floor on the 10th of May, this is a battle of the bands competition.
The second is at the Town Mill (hopefully John will make this one) as part of the DEAD AS DISCO festival that is taking place over the bank holiday weekend. We are playing on the bank holiday monday (29th of May)
And finally we have one at the Malt Shovel in Grantham on the 16th of June. Check out the gigs page for more info.
We've got gigs coming out our fukin' Ass at the minute. Got 3 more for you here still theres more to come.
The First is thanks to Christof at www.giggedweb.co.uk who are starting to put a monthly event on at The Black Market, in Warsop we are to be on the first event on the 28th of May. This is the third gig that Giggedweb have given us the other two are, The Frog & Nightgown- 01/04/06 & The Town Mill - 21/04/06
The Second of the newly announced gigs is a return to The Shed, this was the place where John popped his Cherry (gig wise) and this is on the 8th of June.
Finally the third gig is on the 23rd of July at the Frog and Nightgown as part of a 3 day DAYS OF FIRE festival, we are playing on the third day. Not sure of the full details yet but we'll let you know.
Check out more info on these and many more gigs on the Gigs page
Just letting you know that all being well Mr Kidger will be joining us for the gig on Saturday, his hands are still very badly bruised but he says he's ok. Let this be a lesson to all you wimps out there!
In other news we have a gig in June thanks to Shock & Awe promotions (www.shock-awe.co.uk) this is on Saturday the 10th of June at the Seven Stars in Hucknall. See Gigs for more details.
The band have just added a page to a Sheffield based website called Soundaloud. This will hopefully help when we start gigging in Sheffield and the surrounding area. We will try and do the same with all the other places we plan to start gigging in including Leicester, Leeds, Manchester, Derby etc. But for now you can visit the page at http://www.soundaloud.com/band.php?artist_id=717 have a look see what you think.
We've managed to sort out a few more gigs, both these are in Sunny Sutton-in-Ashfield. The first is at the Last Drop, this is not confirmed 100% yet but we'll let you know if it doesn't take place. The second is at the Diamond Club, we played there a couple of weeks ago and it looked to be a really good gig then the bass amp went and everything feel apart, so we have to go back and prove what we're really made of. Check Gigs page for more info.
In other news we do have a myspace page at www.myspace.com/starscreenonline check it out and become one of our friends if you want.
We have a few more gigs to announce these are the 26th of Feb at The Winning Post in Clifton and the 11th of March at the New Cross at Sutton. The New Cross gig is thanks to our friends from For This Day who we played with at the Diamond the other day, we may have a few more with them in the future.
We have also had to rearrange a few gigs. Our second Town Mill gig will now be on the 21st of April and not the 19th of March. This means we have also had to rearrange The Green Rooms gig to the 5th of May. See the gigs page for more info.
It's also the 22nd anniversary of the Birth of one Neal Davis today so we'd like to wish him a happy birthday and Thank God for taking him one year closer to death. The Reapers coming Nealy!
We have been offered a gig at the Diamond Club in Sutton, we've played here a couple of times in their Battle of the Bands competition. For more information see the Gigs Page.
We have just done our first two gigs with new drummer John and to say we've not played for a while they went very well, John is certainly right for the job and if we had any doubts about him (we didn't, but if we did) then he killed them. So we are now looking forward to the up and coming dates. See the Setlist page to see what songs we played at the two gigs.
We have also started a mailing list so we can send you all the latest starscreen news. Just send an email to starscreennews@yahoo.co.uk and we'll sign you up.
19th of November
Another gig is planned for the 27th of January 2006, this is at the King of Diamond in Langwith see gigs page for more details
7th of Wednesday
It's been nearly 6 month's since the last Starscreen gig but we are pleased to announce that we are back!! The first gig with new drummer John will be on the 5th of December 2005 at The Shed in Leicester, this is then followed by another gig in Worksop on the 9th, this is at the Frog and Nightgown. We have played both these places before and enjoyed them, checkout the gigs page for more info. I can here you all shouting at the computer "It's about B@stard time, what have you been doing for six months?" well to answer you question, not a great deal other than reheasing with John, but one event worth mentioning is Winskegable. This is our band competition, heres another one of those high budget slideshows to explain more. Click here to view, once you've opened the file (be warned it's a biggy and not really worth the wait) just press F5 and the slideshow will begin. Enjoy, and don't forget about the up coming gigs.

We don't have any pictures to show just yet but some will surface in the coming weeks and hopefully we will start gigging in November/December time.
